In Floradorp in Noord is vlak voor middernacht traditiegetrouw het grote vreugdevuur ontstoken. Een stapel van duizenden kerstbomen, explosieven en oud hout ging in vlammen op. Vier dagen hadden de bewoners gewerkt aan hun kerstbomenberg. Een eigen ordedienst van vrijwilligers uit de buurt hield een oogje in het zeil maar hoefde niet in te grijpen.

Squatters tried to re-take the failed Planet Hollywood in Amsterdam city centre and it ended in violence in a crowded street. 25 squatters and some tourists were hurt. The re-squat failed and 5 people were arrested. Nice music from Slipknot and Marilyn Manson.
