A five minute film with natural sound. These are some of the 12 tortoises hatched about 4 years ago. Just in case you wanted to observe their eating behaviors.
The first zip line ever in the United States is on the side of Haleakala Volcano on the Island of Maui. Here is a riders's-eye view of the longest of their 6 slides. All the other runs have you landing on a simple wooden platform. This one has a rolling ladder rig which can be dangerous for the employee, but perfectly safe for the rider.
The title says it all. Steve and I have been digging this hill away and preparing to build a retaining wall which will eventually be an enclosure for the trash and recycling bins at a client's home.
On March 8th 2008, while on a whale-watching trip out of San Diego on the yacht "America", we encountered a spectacular display of dolphins. This is only a small part of what we saw.
I was in the ocean off the coast of San Diego and drove thru about a thousand dolphins. Tried to catch them on video. This really shows a lot of dolphins, but not as many as were really surrounding the boat.
As a helicopter flies overhead, Sheldon is doing his manly duty. Shelley laid eggs just the night before last, which means she was totally exhausted all day yesterday, and only began moving again today. She has to put up with this kind of abuse all summer long. Although Widget stands by and watches, the tortoises don't seem to mind.
The supercarrier is filmed from the deck of the Yacht America as it enters San Diego Bay. The soundtrack is "Le Reve Passe" or "The Soldier's Dream", one of the few songs Mr. Lincoln was ever heard to sing aloud. The song exemplifies the fighting spirit of the ship, as well as the President's determination to win the Civil War.
The two tortoises are about 20 years old. Soon after adopting this little black Chihuahua and calling him "Widget", we introduced him to the tortoises. Here he discovers that rocks really can walk.

Shelley and Sheldon doing their daily parade exercises, joined by six of their 4 year old offspring. Near the end, Sheldon rams Shelley, forcing her onto her side. She wriggles back to her feet after being rammed once more. All the while, the babies seem not to notice, as they get stomped by their parents.
Here Widget, the old fart in the red collar, would like nothing more than to lie on his bed and take a nap. But the youngster Ziggy wants to play, and is quite insistent.
This orangutan at the San Diego zoo may have been mimicking her keeper's actions when I caught her washing the glass of her enclosure. She did this for about 15 minutes, but here are only a few seconds of the action.
Here is our 20 year old female African Leopard Tortoise, Shelley, eating a stalk of Bok Choy, which is one of her favorite foods. No hands and no teeth. I find it amazing this species hasn't become extinct.
Jan 13, 2008 off the coast of San Diego, CA. You can hear the whales as they blow and the creaking of the wooden vessel. You can also hear some of the passengers. The final few seconds of the clip show all 7 whales' flukes as they dive deep.
