Steely Dan - A great performance from the "Two Against Nature" live concert on DVD. I don't read very well so I hope there's no copyright problem here . . . This music is awesome and must be heard !!!
I built a wall with a window and made a nice little studio in my basement. Its not soundproof, but its a nice comfortable room to record in. Here is a small tour.
Rev. George Mallory (my dad) tells the story of when the old hymn "Abide with Me" was written then plays it on the handsaw. Accompanied by mom (Mrs Ruth Mallory) on piano - set to a family slide show presentation.
A small demo on using MIDI controllers in Sonar4. I draw in some "pitch bends" and also use "modulation" using a song by Keb Mo - More than One Way Home.
Have fun with midi !!!
New Morning Vision and Mezzo

Rico McFarland - guitar
Charles Davis - bass
Linus Iran Nance - keyboard
Alphonso Lavell Jones - drums
Using Sonar 6 I add background drums, bass, strings and vocals to an original song by Matthew Andrae. This is meant for showing some tips and tricks in using Sonar.
Matthew James Andrae "thatguyweheard" wrote this great song for his daughter. I simply couldn't get enough of it. It stands well on its own, but I couldn't resist taking the audio portion into "Sonar 6" and adding some background tracks. I hope it enhances and doesn't distract from this song. So with Matthews permission, and no further adieu please enjoy and comment.

This takes you a little deeper into some basic MIDI editing including copy / paste, drag and drop, groove clip looping, and transpose. Also some keyboard shortcuts and a look at guitar tuner.

This is part 4 of a 4 part series. It is a demo of making a midi file. I import a Steely Dan song into Sonar then begin creating a midi file, using the original as a pattern. During this series I make a drum line, then guitar, bass, piano and brass. I am 50 years of age and have enjoyed working with MIDI since it began in the early 1980's.

We're still working on this song. It is coming along nicely but it takes a lot of patience and hard work. Here we add background vocals 'BGs' and mix them. I hope this is an enjoyable and informative look "behind the scenes" in the studio.
