Manatsu no Kajitsu means fruit of mid summer. Another nice song by Kuwata Keisuke of Southern All Stars. It's perfect to listen to this song while driving along Shonan Beach (popular surfing spot near Tokyo) around time of sunset. Keep surfing!
Sayonara means good bye in Japanese. This song was written and sung by Oda Kazumasa. His voice is much higher than mine. So I need to sing in different key. Sorry this video stops before the end of the song because of my lack of handling software. I hope you will like this song.
This is a nice song by Kuwata Keisuke written for the heart touching movie called "Life-Tengoku de kimi ni aetara" which was showing in summer of 2007 in Japan. I noticed the lyrics was too long and much harder to sing than I thought it was!
Natsu no owari no harmony means harmony in late summer. This is a nice song written by Tamaki Koji. I really like melody line in bridge part. Lyrics was written by Inoue Yosui - another great Japanese singer/songwriter.
Fujii Fumiya's nice song called True Love. In YouTube, you can watch Fumiya playing acoustic guitar and singing this song. My nephew requested this song!
Yuming (her nick name) is one of the greatest Japanese singer/songwriters who started her career back in mid '70s. Arai Yumi is her maiden name before marriage with her husband Matsutoya, arranger and pianist for her music. She has released so many nice songs but I like her tunes in early days such as this one. It is simple and less-commercial but sophisticated enough, in my opinion.
One of my favorite Yuming songs called Kageriyuku Heya. She went to Christian school called Rikkyo Women's Highschool. I can smell chuch music in this tune. I guess she is somehow influenced by church music. What do you think?
This is a song written by Kuwata Keisuke, one of my favorite singer/songwriters in Japan. The title of this song means Moon. Melody is very Japanese, I think. What do you think?
Another Yuming song...talking about anniversary of marriage. I used to hear this song very often at marriage ceremony I attended. I hope they are still together!! Happy Marriage! Hahaha.
This song "Koi ha momoiro" was written and sung by Hosono Haruomi for his own solo album. I like his voice. It is simple and not sophisticated, but natural and easy to my ears.
Suga Shikao plays this song in his live with his acoustic guitar in slow tempo, unlike his recorded version. I like this slow version better than CD. I think this is one of the best Suga Shikao songs.
Chuuo Highway stretches from center of Tokyo westward to Yamanashi and Nagano. You will drive through Tokyo, then to the mountains and forests as you gain elevation. I love this song because it talks about Suntory Beer Factory and Horse Race Track you can see from the highway while driving around Chofu area of Tokyo. It reminds me of my first date with my girlfriend when we drove to Mt. Fuji!
Sano Motoharu is a great singer/songwriter who composed so many hit songs. He is also a great rock'n roller as well. His slow ballard songs such as this one are really heart-touching. I like lyrics of this song - it makes you visualize scenary of Tokyo in rain just as a collage of the photos.
Suga Shikao's nice song called Manatsu no yoru no yume - which means night dream of mid summer. He has high voice. So I had to lower the key to match my voice. I tried not to ruin the original flavor of the song. I hope you will like it.
This is another beautiful song written and sung by Tamaki Koji. It is nice to sing this song in the silence of the mid night. I am sorry for my neighbors. Hehehe.
This is my favorite song called Natsukage (it means shades of summer in Japanese) written by Suga Shikao, a Japanese singer/songwriter. His lyrics is really heart moving as well as melody he creates. I hope you will like it.
I wrote this song to remind me of wonderful time I spent with my girl friend walking in the park when gentle wind of May touched our heart. I tried to use open guitar chord to express feeling of pureness and transparency - theme of this song.
