This is the first of a series of eight memorable classes taught by H.H. Swami Chinmayananda during the 1975 Vedanta Spiritual Camp at Humboldt State University. In this class Swamiji introduces the students to the vision of the Upanishads as they are found in the end of each one of the four Vedas. Their content addresses the human pursuit of seeking a Self which is free from limitations.
The premise that the goal of spiritual life is to become something other than what we are, or to "reach" a "state" which is away from ourselves, is based on a non-apprehension of the non-dual nature of who we really are, the Whole, and perpetuates one's delusion-based notions about oneself, the world and God.
