this was a spectacular end to the most amazing night of bluegrass ever. he covered Radiohead. how awesome is that?
(this was at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville, TN)
obviously, Chris Thile is a virtuoso at the mandolin, but what i wasn't expecting was that the rest of his band would be absolutely phenomenal (as you can see from these solos). really, i mean, just tremendous. Bryan Sutton is the guitar player. incredible.

03.24.07 (Nashville) - This was awesome. I see a lot of shows and it's not too often when all THREE acts get up on stage and play together. TPC's drummer was ill, so Cold War Kids and Delta Spirit gave a helping hand in the percussion dept. They were beating on everything. It was fantastic. So much energy.

(and Delta Spirit is helping too. sorry.)
this was our first visit to 3rd & Lindsley, but we really enjoyed it. i'm looking forward to going back. sorry for the shakiness. this bloke gave me crap (politely, mind you, but still) about taking 4 flash pictures, so i didn't want to look too suspicious holding the camera "video camera" style. so i had it on the table a lot.
this is off the Live at Jittery Joe's CD. it's kind of a crappy video, but it's an awesome song.
i love how he's like, "i don't know what to play next."
"Gardenhead!"
"Ok."
this was part of the Cadets show right up until the point when the stopped the show. you can see the drum majors looking off. everyone was pissed. some of the Cadets were yelling to let them finish. they didn't though.
rain. rain was why they stopped.
i reuploaded this so you could see the way it ACTUALLY looked/sounded like. i didn't want to delete the other one because everyone seemed to be having such a good time arguing on it.

this was one the most enjoyable concerts i've ever been to. amazing musicians and great music.
hard to believe Thile is only a year older than me.
i believe the song is called "Wayside/Back in Time." i just heard Gillian Welch sing it on the WOXY.

i couldn't have been more excited about this show. it's such a slow time of year for music and this was just a FANTASTIC startup for the year. what a blast.
(sorry for the shakiness in all these. i was trying not to dance while i filmed.)
