What a sight this must have been, circa 1936. "Just imagine" looking skyward in downtown Manhattan -- and seeing this silent monster floating above! This is the impressive, hydrogen-filled Zeppelin from Germany called Hindenburg. It had been flying for a year before its fatal mooring May 6, 1937, at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Manchester Township, New Jersey.
This was on TV in the summer of 1979 when I first got a Sony Betamax VTR (the manual called it a Video Tape Recorder). I notice it is not the same version she did on other clips found on youtube. The host appears to be Wolfman Jack, so the show is probably Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special.
Billed as "Ming and Toy," the man (Ming) plays ukulele, accordion and cracks stereotype jokes. He plays a prestissimo version of "Sweet Sue - Just You" then does a little juggling. His little friend, Toy, breaks into a Cab Calloway impersonation, while singing "Sing a Little Low Down Tune."
