Bad laws make me want to sing!
Karaoke parody about the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) by The Evolution Control Committee (www.evolution-contr ol.com), set to the tune of a well-known gay anthem of the disco era. This parody made its debut at "Free Speech Ain't Free!", an Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Fundraiser event by 10 Zen Monkeys (www.10zenmonkeys.co m) on March 22, 2007.
The Evolution Control Committee debuts The Wheel Of Mashup, live at Bootie SF (DNA Lounge) on 05/12/2006. The Wheel is actually two wheels: one for the music, one for the vocals. Whatever pair results gets mashed up on the spot!
The ECC hasn't made many live performance videos available, but we liked this one (plus we needed some live show footage for promo DVDs). TradeMark G. rocks the Thimbletron in NYC, and footage is culled from two shows at Tonic, RIP (11/17/2002 and 11/09/2003). A few excerpts from our videos are tossed in for good measure. enjoy!
MUSIC: The national anthem of the USA.
LYRICS: The advertising jingle of Oscar Meyer wieners.
RESULT: Uncannily good. Is their match-up coincidence? Or... is it actually NO ACCIDENT?
I believe this may be our first public domain mashup!

Music video for "Spandau Filet", from The Evolution Control Committee's album "Plagiarhythm Nation v2.0" on Seeland Records. How did we miss uploading this before? After cutting up Spandau Ballet's "True" in audio, we realized it would be a snap to make a matching video...
A brief introduction to our custom-built sampler-triggering instrument, the Thimbletron. Ten ordinary sewing thimbles, wired into some dangerous looking electronics, into a laptop we hacked together. Since its invention we've used it at hundreds of shows across the USA, Europe, and Australia.
