My cheap camera can't really do justice to the incredible noise and sight of these bells. They are ringing Cambridge Surprise Royal on the back 10 of the 12 , 33-3-6 in C#, cast in 1927 by Gillett and Johnston of Croydon, hung for English Full Circle Changeringing
No one seems to know why there are paint marks on the inside of the bells.

A couple of lengthy bellringing clips from Southwark Cathedral when we visited the other day and I thought they sounded nice...even if it does take a rather required taste to ring them (they were on the rather heavy side!). Think we got used a couple of the lighter ones in the end :-)

English Full Circle Change ringing. The same Cambridge Royal being brought round half way with plain hunt. the 33cwt tenor made an alarming noise because the ringer simply let go of the sally when he got it over the balance.

I was getting it up quickly so I could bugger off back to bed, as it was half eight in the morning. There was a wedding later on that day. It weighs 9-1-23 and was cast in 1734 by Daniel Hedderly, just outside the chinese takeaway in the market place.
Bedworth is a town between Nuneaton and Coventry. Becauase of its position between these much bigger places, it's not got much in the way of anything interesting. There is one old bell of 1629, and the rest are by Taylor's in 1891. The back end of the church has been turned into meeting rooms, and there is a smart ringing room but they have no band here.

with Cambridge Surprise Royal on the back ten of the Gillett and Johnston ring of 12, 33-3-6 in C# . it is a bit short, I shall make a longer one soon, possibly with all 12
6,12cwt. This is one of the first videos I ever made of ringing, at a meeting of the Lincoln Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers, on the 18th of September 2004. I have no idea why I never put these on youtube before now!
