The black capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus) is a resident of many parts of North America. It's a small bird, and as the name implies, the top of its head is black.
The name "chickadee" refers to one of the calls that it makes, which sounds like "chickadee dee dee".

I'm slowly trying to train a chickadee to take seeds from my hand. He's a bit immature which is perfect, as they haven't yet had a lot of interaction with humans. Not there yet, but I'll keep trying! Batteries had died on my regular camcorder, this was done on my Canon A570.

First egg hatched this afternoon.
Unfortunately I'm getting a lot of RF interference on the audio, so I had to unplug the audio cable.
The newly hatched chick can be seen about 5:55 into the video. Its head is in the middle of the cluster of eggs. It can be seen moving a little bit later on in the video.

Last days the chickadees spend in the nest before fledging. The last couple of clips have audio, since I was able to use noise reduction to eliminate the radio interference.
