Oscar is a Cockatoo with a rare and often fatal disease (Beak and Feather Disease). She doesn't have any feathers and always draws a crowd
She was taken in by the Broward County Humane Society and is their unofficial mascot.
She was sick, they said, and probably had about six months to live. That was 12 years ago

This is my Cockatoo Louise who has a great sense of rhythm. I was working on the computer, going through music files. When this song came on, Louise spontaneously did this performance for me. As you can see, she is a one take bird!

Bo was a Moluccan Cockatoo left to die in an unheated storage room at a pet shop. They refused him medical attention. A friend and myself went on a rescue mission and got him out. Sadly a life of neglect and abuse had already taken it's toll. For his story you can visit www.BoBosPlayhouse.c om (abridged version) or www.SecondChanceBird s.com (full version but must be a member).

I love my birds. But always remember that large Parrots are wild animals we confine and force to live in our world. This bite was not because of a bad situation or out of anger. It was wild instinct. The bite was MY fault. IT'S ALWAYS THE HUMANS FAULT. Please support your local bird rescue.
