The story didn't end in Frodo leaving the house. He's going to sell Bag End to Lobelia Sackville-Baggins (was it?), that's the story goal at the moment. But first Frodo takes a final stroll around Hobbiton.
These first parts are actually the best parts. Later on there's just too much sword-swinging and clumsy combat. Also, later on the areas start to look REALLY boring.
