The Town of Hilton Head Island has just completed the first pilot program in South Carolina for a new computerized traffic ticketing system that allows deputies to scan licenses into laptop computers and print out tickets in their cruisers.
For drivers, it means less time sitting on the side of the road -- down from an average of about 17 minutes to about seven.
