Posho, made from cassava, is the staple food of much of Africa, including the Acholi of Northern Uganda. The tuberous root of the cassava is dug from the ground when needed and is peeled in preparation for mingling or cooking.
We went to watch a woman cooking beans on a Six Bricks Rocket Stove. We found her using a very small fire. In the end we discovered that she had no beans. We gave her some money to buy some.
