From WTOP Washington, Election Night Coverage from 1972. The election displays were done by hand on this clip, electronic displays were in use for the next election.
From KYW Philadelphia it's The News Saturday, with Beverly Williams, Tom Lamaine, and Lou Tilley. Very clean graphics, somewhat laid back presentation, and an editorial open at the end.
From WABC New York, the tease and open for the 11PM Eyewitness News in 1987 with terrific announcing by Ernie Anderson. No one says "Channel Seven" better!
From CBS, The Dream Season 1990 promos, when just about every major sports event was on CBS. Terrific animation, maybe a bit too Foxy, but still great for the time. First two cuts are affiliate versions, followed by the clean network promo.
From CBS, the 2:00 version of the Looking Good campaign. Of the new shows premiering in 1979, only Trapper John MD was renewed, the others were canceled.
From WBBM Chicago, the afternoon news block opens and a long close. The thumbs up sign was done at several O&Os, have no idea why, but it got the viewers involved.
From WCBS New York, the premiere of the 4PM News in 2000, this was during the period when the local news was done off the CBS Early Show set on Fifth Avenue. The 5pm open is at the end of this clip.
Three affiliate versions of the Reach for the Stars campaigns, the first two for WJBK and KDFW are full versions with custom music and graphics, the KNXT version is just local footage cut into the national spot with the national music.
From WBAL Baltimore one of the great all time news opens, with Cool Hand Luke music, Movie of the Week animations, and the set walls that rotate into place! Add a puppet for the weather segment and you've got a winner!
