His Holiness the Dalai Lama has successfully completed his
medical treatment and left Sir Ganga Ram hospital in New Delhi on
Thursday, and received a warm welcome from the staff members and
students on his arrival at the Tibetan youth hostel, where he will rest
for few days before returning to Dharamshala.
Since arriving in Mumbai yesterday afternoon, His Holiness the
Dalai Lama underwent some medical tests. The doctors attending on him
have given assurances that there is absolutely no cause for concern. All
that he needs is a good rest.
Marking the occasion of 48th Tibetan Democracy Day, the Kashag
of the Central Tibetan Administration, underlined that the "Tibetan
people living in free world should work towards cultivating a culture of
openness, freedom and transparency and they should give more importance
to their democratic duties than rights."
Chinese dissident Hu Jia won the European Union's top human ?rights prize on Thursday despite a warning from Beijing that his ?selection would seriously harm relations with the 27-nation bloc. ?European Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering described Hu as "one ?of the real defenders of human rights" in China.
Thousands of Tibetans gathered at the Tsuglagkhang, the main
temple, Tuesday morning to offer prayers to the families affected in the
earthquake that struck Gyaldar township of Dhamshung county and
neighbouring areas west of Lhasa on 6 October.
A group of around 600 Taiwanese Buddhists who had gathered at
the courtyard of the Thekchen Choeling Tsukhlakhang to listen to his
teachings. The 5-day teaching on Arya Nagarjuna's Commentary on
Bodhicitta (jangchup semdrel) and Kamalashila's the Middling Stages of
Meditation (gomrim barpa)is requested and facilitated by a Taiwanese
Buddhist group.
