I often immerse myself in the music of my MP3 player whilst travelling the buses and tubes on the way to and from work in London. This is a video of exactly how it is. A real London journey. Footage from the Piccadilly Line tube towards Hammersmith and from the 79 bus between Alperton and Wembley High Road travelling through Ealing Road.
Sometimes we go shopping to the ASDA (Wal*Mart) in our neigbourhood in North West London. This is a music video taken from the back of our car as Ms.79 drives to ASDA supermarket through the roads in the suburbs of Kingsbury NW9.
This is my Mrs making fresh roti (chappati) on a hot tava on our cooker-hob. It is simply amazing how these are expertly made - and they taste real good too!
I went to Tokyo in 2004 to see how people use their mobile phones for Internet browsing. I figured that the best way to learn was to hang around on street corners in downtown Tokyo and take video clips of people using their phones. Which is what I did.
Punky music video of me driving round the North Circular to IKEA and back. It was a typical rainy weekend. The best part of this video is the VW camper van that was driving in front of us!
In late 2003 - when I learned that our offices in Hammersmith were to be closed and that we were relocating to Slough - I put together a little pop video of memories of Hammersmith.
Concorde made its last commercial flights on 24th October. This is a recording of the last three Concordes on the final approach to Heathrow as seen from Hammersmith Bridge West London - which was not too far from my offices at the time.
A condensed musical video of my train journey to Slough from Ealing Broadway. Trying to make something vaguely interesting from something mind-numbingly boring.
My favourite London highway is the A40 Westbound from Greenford towards the point that it becomes the M40. It is a breathtaking journey when done at the crack of dawn in the Spring. I took some footage of the journey one day when a friend gave me a lift.
Once again, some randomish clips of images of O2 offices in Slough, Hammersmith and Munich from around 2002. I particularly like the reflection of the staff minibus in the Slough shops as it travels between Bath Road and Brunel Way/Wellington Street.
This is a short video of the "look and feel" of the user experience of a CONCEPT prototype messaging interface running on a mobile handset. This concept prototype actually works - I am using it to send and receive messages in a highly conversational manner - and is all IP based - so it provides a roadmap story for the evolution of SMS.
Short clip of a Heathrow Espress train passing through Ealing Broadway station. You might be able to see a reflection of me in the train as it whizzes past.
I was going down the escalators at the cavernous Westminster tube station - towards the Jubilee Line platforms - and I hadn't realised that i had somehow trigerred my cameraphone to record video as I was holding in my hand. I only realised when I decided to take a photo of the escalators. Anyway - it was too interesting to delete.
