I took up the challenge and drove down to
SFV to compete against the SFVISBF. The
San Francisco Illegal Soapbox Society had
a spin in the first race. The second run
showed what the X5 could do.

The X4 was raced 4 years then recycled into
the new X5. The X5 features steel-frame and
lever actuated steering. Wheels and tires
are 14" scooter rears and 10" go-cart fronts.

SFISS was created in 1993 by a group of artists and bike messengers. It was run on every third Sunday starting Mother's day until Halloween.
There are two types of racer, those with air
filled tires(pneumatics) and those with hard
rubber tires.
Slotcar track on cables, retracts to the
ceiling. This is a great space saver! My
system pulls 8 cables back to a traveler.
Hanging the track is the best thing I ever did
to make 1/24 scale model car racing even more
enjoyable.

Victory was ours on the 2.15 mile race
course.
X5 deploys firecracker screen. Duct tape
holds a long string of crackers to the
bottom of the car. Very effective for distracting drivers and wowing the crowd.
