Austen Tayshus does a comedy clip which he nicely fits all the Aussie lingo and words into phrases eg. "plat her puss" (platypus). Whilst this wasn't a song it did went to number 1 on the Aussie charts in 1983.
This is a fine example of pure disco music and one of the best disco songs I've ever heard so I made a music video for it using a few dance clips from 1976-78 period. It is so uptempo and great to dance to and it has an awesome guitar funk break to it which really goes off, a true disco classic!!!
Here's an ultra rare live performance of a 70s Aussie glam rock band called Supernaut performing their top hit "I Like It Both Ways" live on Bandstand August 1976. This is the Australian version of Bandstand hosted by a young Daryl Somers. I have a DVD copy of the complete Bandstand show which was transferred from a Umatic tape.
A big Aussie glam rock group from the 1974-76 period whom had a lot of hits in Australia, the biggest being a glam rock cover of a 60s hit "Boney Maroney". This clip is from the famous Aussie pop show "Countdown" dating around early 1975.
In 1979 there were a lot of uptempo disco songs which were awesome to dance to and this disco classic "Beat Of The Night" is to my opinion one of the best and so I thought I'd make a music video for it using a dance clip chromakeyed on a disco style video synth which I recorded from WinAMP. Anyways this is one disco classic that would get anyone dancing!
Australian comedian/show host Gary McDonald aka 'Norman Gunston' does a funny pisstake video medley of ABBA songs doing his Aussie interpretation of them.
