1976: Johnny Nash performs his hit, "I Can See Clearly Now" and then follows with "What A Wonderful World This Would Be" written by the late great Sam Cooke.
1967: One of the, if not THE earliests video clip of Miss Bassey singing, "Goldfinger." Two other selections on this clip include, "Climb Every Mountain AND If Ever I Would Leave You, both, from two different Musicals.
1976: This song was recorded on Shirley's 1967, "And We Were Lovers" Album. Jacques Brel wrote the original musical score and French Lyrics; Rod McKuen wrote the English Lyrics, and in my opinion, of all the artists who have recorded this song in English, Shirley Bassey's rendition is the absolute best! Thank-You Jacques Brel for writing such a beautiful melody!
1998: Bassey Magic Powerful Vocal Control! Here is yet another performance of one of Shirley's signature songs, "Goldfinger" All of her performances are great, but this one is exceptional. The musical arrangement is slightly different, but Shirley's pitch and vocal power are right on the mark! That last note, (Hold it....Hold it...)!!
1973: "Diamonds Are Forever" was released as a single in 1972 and the Movie came out in 1971. This 1973 Performance just may be the first time Shirley has performed this on Video. It is interesting how she has changed her singing style of this song over the years.
1976: Les Dawson cracks up Shirley with his Humor! AS the true professional she is, she really trys told hold her laughter, but you just can't with Les Dawson!
1979: "What are you doing the rest of your life" ...with Michel Legrand on the Piano fits Shirley's voice perfectly. "Till" was originally recorded by Shirley in the early 60's. After ten years the song was dusted off and she sang this song with a newer, faster arrangement in the 70's. Either way, it's great music!
2001: There are many videos of Shirley performing "Hey Big Spender" but I think this one is unique, and many people outside of the UK probably have not seen it. Prince Philip's 80th Birthday Celebration. The woman is ageless, and is dressed to the nine's for this special occasion!
1974: Shirley's duet with Neil Diamond - "Play Me" - Neil was a guest star on one of Shirley's many, many TV Specials. If your temperature doesn't start to rise while watching this one, well, then I don't know what to tell you!
Shirley performs one of her ole time favorite numbers, "Big Spender" with her friend Tom Jones and numerous other celebrities in attendance during her 60th Birthday TV Special. This show aired in 1997.
1979: Brilliant Composer, Michel Legrand, plays a mean piano of the song that he wrote with Norman Gimbel. To his credit, 5 Grammys, 3 Oscars, and has composed over 200 Film & TV scores. His first Score, "I Love Paris" was relased when he was 22 yo!
