Need the end of our training, we had to give a public speech to the village. Ben and I decided to pool our resources and try something a little, well, let's just say, different.
Kava, a peppered root, is prepared on Tanna by benig chewed... which is more disgusting than drinking it... something we do after it is chewed and spit back out. Yummy.
Ew... it makes me gag a little just watching the video. If you have ever had kava, you understand. If you haven't, imagine putting the water from a puddle into a bowl, adding some granules at the bottom to hang you up, and adding a little spice to give it a little kick. That's kava. Yuck!
This is a short tour of where I was living in Vanuatu, while in the Peace Corps. Unfortunately, I did not have the foresight to take more videos, but I'm glad I did take what I did.
Joseph Pasua, manager of Kumahau Rural Training Center on Southwest Tanna, gives a thank you speech for the workshop provided by TVET. Awesome... Joseph, you are on YouTube, which means you are famous. Congradulations

Out on Ambae there is a little kid named Richie. He's ten and still does to school with all the other children. I saw him diong something the other day that made me stop and think, so I thought I would share it in this series.
This is us landing in our little plane on Ambae. You can see the two pilots at the very beginning of the clip. The two small buildings you see are the 'airport' building. And yes, the runway is just grass. Pretty though. Amy is thrilled by the whole experience, as you can see.
Well, after 25 years of being totally dry, Aaron broke his vow of alcohol celibacy with Mark. His first drink, a shot of the 3 wisemen... 1/3 jack, 1/3 jimmy, and 1/3 johnny.
