A small, non-toxic molecule may soon be available as an effective treatment for many forms of cancer, including lung, breast and brain tumours, say University of Alberta researchers. For years, DCA -- or dichloroacetate -- has been used to treat children with inborn errors of metabolism due to mitochondrial diseases.

A new study suggest cell use could lead to cancer. Study exposed human and rat cells to low level radioation. Frequency used in study is similar to one in cell phones. Low levels of radiation from handsets interfere with cells. Cell division encourages the growth of tumors.
