A starter lesson for this technique - hopefully some of this information is clearer to understand than in previous videos - this is should help you break down the basics of the this technique to begin incorporating it into your playing.

A brief look at the different way of using thumb, index, middle and ring fingers to create fast percussive lines on the bass. This style was developed first by Matt Garrison - first used in his early days with Joe Zawinul and then with John McLaughlin - but now fully developed through his solo work.
Just got me a new Boss Rc2 loop pedal and it's reminded me how much fun it is to jam through ideas really quickly - so here's me trying out some stuff on a four chord loop with me new Sei bass. Hope you like it.

Here's me on a Friday morning busting a few moves on a few ideas over a drum loop - just having fun with some of the techniques and chords I like to use.
I felt like getting mellow - so here's a jazz ballad - it's the chords to Wayne Shorter's Miyako - this was a single take and I'm using a little reverb from my EBS Dynaverb pedal - sounds nice.
The classic Wayen Shorter composition played on my lovely Jeff Chapman custom fretless - see some nice pics here - it's made of African Mahogany with an ebony fingerboard:

Hey a new version of one of my favourite Bill Evans standards - just trying out some new ideas I've been shedding - there's a little 4 fing stuff a couple of minutes in - hope you enjoy it.
I love jazzy dance music and this is a great remix by Jazzannova remix of the classic 90s drum and bass tune by 4Hero - We Who Are Not As Others - I jammed along, this was what came out - it's one take - kind of fun I hope.
