This short was made for the 72 Hour Film Festival in Frederick, Maryland.
All of the clips used in this film came from a reel of 35mm nitrate, found in an old theater somewhere in Pennsylvania.
This reel is now in the hands of the Library of Congress.
12/24/1948 16mm kinescope of a live TV commercial, from the very first televised episode of the popular radio show, The Chesterfield Supperclub, starring Perry Como.
Scientists who are "professional smokers" prefer Chesterfield cigarettes because they have no nasty aftertaste...classic propaganda from "big tobacco".
From the vaults of CineGraphic Studios...vintage 16mm film edited to the music of Mickey Katz. This was one of my first attempts to manipulate film to music, and the first only time that I added sound-effects. Originally aired on cable tv as a commercial for a special screening of film oddities. I never realized how many Mickey Katz fans were out there....WOW!!!!!
Several studios back in the 40's manipulated newsreel footage of Hitler and his goose-stepping troops. It is rumored that nazi officials were enraged by this short clip
From the vaults of CineGraphic Studios comes this rare kinescope of a 60's vintage live commercial starring Joey Biship and a young Regis being chased by a ton of women after applying Hai Karate cologne.
