Sorry no drill shots, but who wants to see that when you can get your face in the bell of the screaming sopranos ?!! Starts off with Sammy Nestico's "You gotta Try" Johnny One note at the end.

The resident Sunday Night band -- and what a band! -- consisted of Marcus Miller on bass (also musical director of the show), Omar Hakim on drums, Hiram Bullock on guitar and Phillipe Saisse on keyboards. This show ran in 1988. Dizzy was the main guest.

A Knight at the Apollo - Can't Turn You Loose * Respect * I Feel Good * . This was recorded in Birhamingham, Al at the DCI South prelims. I loved this corps as did many others. In fact countless high school and college bands duplicated this great motown themed show, some almost note for note. I will be posting some of them later.

This is a 1991 performance with Gov Doug Wilder in attendance. Overall good show except for the stinker on the fanfare. The mike must have been right in the 3rd trumpets bell! "Baby got back". Is that still the expression used these days?

This is a 1994 recording of the Valdosta State University "Blazin Brigade" Marching Band. They take on the Velvet Knights Drum Corps "motown" show and do a good job with it. Also included is the Blue Devils version of "When a man loves a woman". Ending with the VSU Blazer fight song.Recorded in Moultrie,Ga high school band marching contest.
