This video demonstrates the new "Sky" feature of Google Earth 4.2 just released on August 22, 2007 . It lets you look up at the night sky and zoom in on photographs taken by powerful telescopes like the Hubble Space Telescope. It also provides placemarks to cool things you can see in the universe.
A new feature in the Google Earth 4.2 beta allows you to view photos in a really cool new way. They also have a new layer under "Featured Content" called "Gigapxl Photos" which lets you view very high resolution photos with the new technique.

Taken during Where 2.0 on May 30. Immersive Media is the company which has the technology used in Google Maps new Street View. This demonstration shows that the camera used actually captures 30 frames a second in every direction at the same time. Very cool!

Very few people got to see the 2008 Google Earth April Fools Joke. Google Earth Blog (http://gearthblog.c om) captured it for posterity. When you zoomed out, the earth turned into Pangea (the merging of the contintents 100s of millions of years ago).
