This is the second of two Kate Smith shows that the Grand Ole Opry gang appeared on in the spring of 1952. Just about seven months later, Hank was gone.
From The Kate Smith Evening Hour 1952..Roy Acuff, Hank, the Carter family and all the traveling Opry Gang do a farewell number... plus Kate does a rollicking production number -- "Feudin' And Fightin'"
(1958) Hank tries out a "new" tune on a Southern Californian crowd. In reality, "I'm Movin On" was the top country song of 1950 and to this day holds the country music record for the number of consecutive weeks at number one on the country charts.
Despite being advised against it, Billy J. Kramer insisted on recording the Stateside chart hit "Little Children" - the lyrics were allegedly about getting his girlfriend's brothers and sisters out of the way so they could make love. It became his second chart topper and biggest hit. The song reached # 1 in the UK charts on 27th Feb 1964. It was his only major hit outside of the UK.
