Coalition forces engaged an ambush site and fighting positions of
anti-Iraqi forces near Ba'qubah on June 9, 2007, in response to an
ambush launched from the location earlier in the day.
A captured insurgent leads Coalition Forces to an Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) headquarters in Maqdadiyah, Iraq.
The building is searched and destroyed.
During a recent operation, Coalition Forces targeted an al-Qaeda Iraq leader associated with a terrorist group north of Baghdad. During that operation, a terrorist emerged from the building and appeared to be holding something in his hands . . . when he continued to move toward our forces he was engaged with small arms fire which detonated a suicide vest he was wearing.
Coalition UAV catches insurgents testing an IED near Fallujah. Troops search the insurgent hideout, finding chemicals, munitions and other bomb-making materials. Finally, and air strike destroys the IED factory.
Khalid, Khalil, and Khattab al-Turki, senior terrorists operating in Iraq with close ties to top al-Qaeda leadership, were killed after taking hostile action against Coalition forces on June 23, 2007.
