D940-11 is highballing east bound approaching grade crossing in Riverdale, MD when an idiot in an SUV decides to play chicken weaving through the gates. It was really close!
CSX U838-20 eastbound at Riverdale Park, MD grinding hard off the Alexandria Branch. Lead by CSX SD70AC #4701 and CW44AC #135 the engineer has to lay on the horn because of another idiot running across the tracks right in front of him. Thats the second one in 3 days.
CSX D742-26 heads around the west leg of the Hyattsville wye going to Benning yard with a heavy loaded coal train. Leading is CSX CW44AC #337 with SD70MAC #4555. I was on my way from another place trying to catch up with this train and wound up first in line when the gates came down.
CSX X741-25 was the first train I videoed since the new crossing gate array became operational yesterday. Full four gates and two overhead light poles really light it up! Can't say much for the bell though. X741 is heading westbound with leader CSX CW60AC #645 and SD70ACe #4842.
CSX Q400-31 heading west on the main in Hyattsville, Md. Train has 5 engines on the front, the last of which is an SD40. You can faintly hear the track detector in the back ground.
CSX Q415-07 starting down the Alexandria Branch in Hyattsville, Md. This guy is really laying on the horn as he approaches a grade crossing just off camera.
CSX R410-02 rerouted westbound at Hyattsville, MD heads on to the main with leader CSX CW60AC #5012,CSX CW40-8 #7804, CSX CW44AH #497 and Mass Coastal GP9 #1209. The GP7 looks fresh from the shops and still has some "wrapping" on the top. This unit was not under power but was obviously being ferried back to home. Nice looking paint scheme.
CSX Q439-27 sitting at a stop signal in Riverdale Park is just getting under way after a MARC train and a CSX autorack clear. Watch as CSX SD70MAC #4726 and CW44-9 #9014 get this long string of mixed freight cars rolling westbound.
CSX W894-12 a special train load of military vehicles headed south for possible refurbishing - looks like a lost cause. Note the swinging door on one of the Hummers. A passing train down the line called on the radio to let the crew know.
CSX Q703-06 lead by CSX CW60AC #676 with an excellent sounding horn, and trailer CSX CW44AC #84 take the trash through Riverdale Park on their way to the dump. This is nice power for a stinking trash train!
CSX Q703-18 lead by CSX SD70AC 4774 with a nicely tuned horn provide a nice example of the Doppler effect as it passes. Followed by CSX CW60AC this pair is an unusual power team for this trash train usually powered by a pair of GEVO's.
I caught CSX Q130-27 at a grade crossing on the Alexandria Branch on my way home from work. Nice silhouette against the western sky. This is just west of the wye in Hyattsville, MD. You can hear several track detectors as well as a passing MARC train on the Capital Sub.
CSX Q415-16 just getting under way from the west end of the Brunswick yard. This long slow freight heads out with CSX ES44DC #5219 leading with SD40-2 #8136 and CW44AC #379.

CSX Q400-15 just getting under way heading westbound in Brunswick,MD. As usual this train has good power. Leading is CSX ES44DC #5263 with SD40-2 #8456,CW40-8 #7728 and CW44AC #405. As Q400 slowly passes Q139-15 comes up from behind on the inside track and passes by moving fast with CSX CW60AC #692 working solo.
CSX U324-18 is heading south (actually west according to CSX) on the Alexandria Extension in Hyattsville MD, with a load of coal for the South Carolina Public Service Authority. Leading are a pair of CSX SD70AC units #4801 and #4580 with GP40-2 #6249 making an all EMD consist.
CSX Q409-19 westbound on the Alexandria Extension in Hyattsville MD with leader CSX ES44DC #5369 and SD80MAC #4600 with another 100+ car train. Watch the next to last car on the train. It is a private passenger car with "Southerner" on written on the side. Nice little bonus.
CSX D942-17 heading westbound with a long string of empty coal hoppers crosses the US1 grade crossing. Lead by two of the new ES44AC units #748 and #800 this train is bound for Brunswick, MD
CSX D021-10 a work train with new rails turns around on the Hyattsville wye. In the opening scene it backs down the east leg of the wye down beyond the apex. The second scene shows the train now moving forward on the west leg of the wye. The new rail was to be unloaded on the Metropolitan Sub near Kensington. Lead engine is an old GP30 converted into a Road Slug with a GP40 mate.

CSX Q415-10 crosses over from track 2 to track 1 and then on to the Alexandria extension. Led by CSX CW60AC #5016 and CW44AC # 247 they take a short mixed freight south.
