In 1998, Tori contributed a song called Siren to the soundtrack for the film "Great Expectations" with Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow. Here is a solo live version.
This has got to be one of the most beautiful and sad Tori songs ever, the last line always gets me. Another 2001 performance though not from Dallas (I'm not sure where this is from). Solo on the "Stars and Stripes" Wurlitzer.
Tori playing Spring Haze in Dallas on the 2001 Strange Little Tour. Ends with Tori telling a funny story about what it's like to tour with a harpsichord.
A rare treat for all the YouTube Toriphiles. Tori's famous solo version of Juárez which featured on the 1999 and 2001 tours. Imho one of her most stunning reworked live songs ever. This particular vid is from the Providence show on 30/11 1999.
Doughnut Song from one of the Oakland shows in '96. It starts out with Tori telling a funny (and somewhat confused) story about her crew, then there's an improv of the back-up lyrics ("you can tell me it's over..."). There is also some improvising in the middle. It's a very beautiful version of a very beautiful song, I think.
One of Tori's most haunting songs, off the brilliant To Venus and Back. A fellow youtuber who went to this show told me Bliss really stood out that night. I agree!
So, this video has that good old Dogma film shaky handheld camera feel but it doesn't matter. This is a really cool performance from 2001, Tori's wearing a black mask and there's a lot of twisting and writhing on the piano bench!
This was requested by the lovely brykenn who I'm sure won't be the only one happy to see this. Incidentally, this is also from the 1999 Providence show.
