Hip-hopper Tela came busting out of Memphis in 1996 with a contract for the Suave House label (Eightball MJG). First album Piece of Mind appeared in November of that year; Now or Never followed in late 1998, and World Ain't Enuff in fall 2000.
Westside Connection was a group consisting of Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10. The group's debut album, Bow Down, reached the number 2 position on the Billboard 200 in 1996. The group was formed during the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry, coming out after the death of 2Pac. They have had feuds with Cypress Hill, Common, Kam, and Q-Tip.
